Q: Is there anything I need to do before the talk?
A: Yes, look at the TODO list above.
Q: Will the talk be recorded?
A: Yes, it's a good archive and several people have been asking for it. Videos are uploaded at netseminar's youtube channel.
Q: How long is the talk?
A: 45 minutes, followed by 10 minutes Q&A (12:15-1:00pm, 1:00-1:10pm).
Q: I plan to drive - can you help with parking?
A: Let me know in advance to plan for a parking permit. There is a small parking lot behind the Gates building. Give me a call when you are getting closer and I'll meet you down there.
Q: What is the typical attendance for seminars?
A: ~30-40 people, both from industry and academia. Most of the times you can assume familiarity with networking. Numbers and audience change according to the talk, and schedule of students (exams, etc).
Q: Will you schedule a few meetings for me with professors X and Y?
A: No. It works much better if you contact the people you are interested directly and make your schedule. (advice : do this in advance).
Q: Where is the talk and how do I get there?
A: Unless otherwise noted, talks are at Gates 104 (353 Serra Mall). Directions to the Gates Building and Nearby Parking.
Q: Do you reimburse any expenses?
A: No, you are by yourself here. NetSeminar is run by students, and our funding is barely enough for lunch.
