An Integrated Approach to Network Security

Stephen Hana
Juniper

About the talk:

Most current network security approaches focus on only one aspect of security: end-to-end encryption and authentication, link-layer encryption, access control, intrusion detection, multicast security, etc. Adopting an integrated approach to network security can provide many benefits such as automated incident response, business-level policies and reports, and reduction in false positives and negatives. Even more promising is the potential to integrate network security with endpoint security, storage security, application security, and other security systems. In this talk, I will explore the possibilities for security integration and describe past, present, and future standards efforts in the Trusted Computing Group that enable integration of security systems.

About the speaker:

Steve Hanna is a Distinguished Engineer at Juniper Networks. As co-chair of the Trusted Network Connect Work Group in the Trusted Computing Group and the Network Endpoint Assessment Working Group in the IETF, Steve has a deep and broad understanding of access control technology. He is the author of many papers, an inventor or co-inventor on 32 issued U.S. patents, and a regular speaker at industry events.
